When we make a product recommendation, we're sharing the knowledge, the education, and the efficacy - always striving to give you value and a true Gee experience.
I came across this chart on social media, and I loved how simply put it was: highlighting and matching up key powerhouse ingredients with very common skincare goals. It breaks it down so easily, it inspired me to want to expand on the ingredients and show you how to build your best regimen.
1) Brighter Skin - Vitamin C
Vitamin C (also known as L-ascorbic acid) is an antioxidant that helps protect your cells against the effects of free radicals.
Not only do I recommend Vitamin C daily for the face, neck, and chest, I always teach my clients to apply it to the top of each hand. The hands are constantly exposed to UV rays, pollution, heat and bacteria so Vitamin C is crucial to improve skin tone, texture, density and hydration.” - Miriam Gee
2) Firmer, Poreless Skin - Retinol
Retinol increases skin cell production. It helps unclog pores, exfoliates, and increases collagen production. It reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, leaving skin fresh and plump with an improved texture.
3) Smoother Skin Texture - Lactic Acid
Lactic Acid increases cell turnover and helps eliminate accumulated dead skin on the epidermis, which is the top layer of the skin. When using lactic acid in concentrations the skin gets more firm and dense.
4) Clear Skin - Salicylic Acid
Salicylic Acid unclogs pores and helps to remove dead skin cells. This is important because dead skin cells can contribute to the development of acne and other skin problems. By removing your dead skin, salicylic acid can help the skin to look brighter.
5) Less Redness - Niacinimide
Niacinimide helps build keratin which is a type of protein that keeps your skin firm and healthy. It increases your skin's resilience, and lipid barrier*, minimizes redness and blotchiness, minimizes the appearance of pores, regulates oil production, treats hyperpigmentation, and minimizes fine lines & wrinkles.
*lipids are fatty, waxy or oily compounds that are soluble in organic solvents and insoluble in polar solvents such as water
6) More Hydration - Hyaluronic Acid + Vitamin E
When hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid and Vitamin E are applied before makeup, they give the skin a plumped and glowy look that's never shiny. I'm loving the new Gee Beauty Prime Skin Beauty Oil (coming soon!) because the Vitamin E nourishes my skin and gives me the perfect hydrated base for makeup. I love mixing it with Liquid Glow and Prime Skin Tinted Multi-Primer for a lightweight finish!
